John R. Mitchell is an attorney with a practice in Bristol County. He is a UMASS Amherst and Georgetown University Law Center graduate.

A lifelong resident of Fall River, John R. Mitchell has been serving his community with dedication and leadership for decades.
John began practicing law in 1981 after graduating from UMass Amherst and Georgetown University Law Center.
He entered public service in 1983, serving as a Fall River City Councilor (1983-1991) and as Mayor of Fall River (1991-1996.) He was elected as a Bristol County Commissioner in 2012.
John is married to Judith Gonsalves, and they have a daughter, Courtney.
John has dedicated his life to both public service and practicing law, always putting Bristol County first.
